Addis Ababa: Ethiopian Christians commemorated Good Friday (Siklet) with religious rituals today. Since early morning, Christian faithful congregated in churches to observe Siklet, which marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross. The day is being commemorated across Ethiopia Christian faithful with solemn prayers, readings, hymns, prostration, reflection and fasting, among others. This commemoration of Siklet precedes the joyous celebration of Easter on Sunday, which signifies Christ's resurrection and victory over death.
