Professor Andreas Eshete’s Funeral Procession Underway

Addis Ababa: The funeral procession of the renowned scholar and former President of Addis Ababa University (AAU) Professor Andreas Eshete is undertaking in the premises of the university. President Sahlework Zewde and other top government officials as well as his colleagues from the academia are attending the procession. Professor Andreas Eshete served as President of AAU from 2003 to 2011. Professor Andreas, who died last week at age seventy-nine, was one of the greatest minds of Ethiopia's finest generation of thinkers. A child of the revolutionary movement, he was a reflective political philosopher, inspiring teacher, sensitive observer, curious inquirer, generous friend, and devoted patriot.
