Eritrea: General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s Working Visit to Eritrea

Asmara: General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan's Sovereign Council, conducted a brief working visit to Eritrea. Upon his arrival at Asmara International Airport, he was warmly welcomed by President Isaias Afwerki, highlighting the cordial relations between the two nations. This visit was part of the ongoing consultative framework aimed at fostering collaboration and understanding between Eritrea and Sudan. According to African Press OArganization, Mr. General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan emphasized the significance of the visit in strengthening the historical and people-to-people ties between the neighboring countries. He noted that the meeting was a testament to the enduring relationship and mutual interests shared by Eritrea and Sudan. Furthermore, he expressed appreciation for Eritrea's consistent stance on regional issues. After concluding his discussions and engagements, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan returned to Sudan, underscoring the visit's role in reinforcing bilateral consultations between t he leaderships of the two countries.
