Asmara: The Central Region Schools Cultural Competition in Eritrea has concluded, marking the end of a year-long event that engaged students from elementary to secondary levels. The competition included various cultural activities such as reading and calligraphy, general knowledge, photography and painting, innovation and creativity, debating, narration, short stories, poetry, dance, music, and drama.
According to African Press Organization, Mr. the concluding event took place at Cinema Roma, where Mr. Mesfun Woldeselasie, head of administration and finance at the Ministry of Education branch in the Central Region, emphasized that culture embodies the aspirations and values of societies. He highlighted the importance of nurturing committed and able young individuals who uphold noble societal values.
Mr. Solomon Barhe, head of culture, stated that the program was designed to instill a love for country and culture in the new generation, encouraging them to embrace their identity and inherit the values and culture of their ancestors. He also advocated for the organization of training programs for teachers involved in cultural activities and for enhancing parental participation.
During the event, awards were presented to schools that excelled in the competition, recognizing their efforts and achievements in promoting cultural values among students.
