High School Graduates in Kenedougou Encouraged to Embrace National Values Through Patriotic Immersion

Kenedougou: The High Commissioner of the Kenedougou Province, Sadou Sakira, presided over the closing ceremony of the first batch of high school graduates in patriotic immersion at the Diongolo Traore Provincial High School. The graduates were encouraged to embrace values woven into the culture and history of the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the high school in Orodara. During the ceremony, Boureima Sawadogo, the spokesperson for the graduates, acknowledged the comprehensive support they received throughout their immersion experience. Sawadogo expressed gratitude for the intense learning period, which focused on the resilience and fundamental values of Burkinabe citizenship.

The provincial director in charge of secondary education in Kenedougou, Lassina Coulibaly, addressed the graduates, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a patriotic spirit in a rapidly changing world. Coulibaly highlighted that patriotism is a crucial stance and a daily responsibility for young citizens.

Sadou Sakira commended the graduates for their commitment and likened their transformation to that of a snake shedding its skin. He noted that the immersion session equipped the graduates with essential tools to understand the world, encouraging them to leave behind external influences and embrace national values. Sakira stated that Burkina Faso needs citizens who are honest, humble, patriotic, and united.

The ceremony featured performances by artists, demonstrations of close-up techniques, a symbolic presentation of certificates, and a parade of the participants. A total of 1,036 high school graduates from the province of Kenedougou participated in this immersion program.
