Burkina Orchestra Captivates Moscow During Spasskaya Tower Festival

Moscow: The orchestra of the Presidency of Faso impressed the Moscow public on Friday, August 22, 2025, during its debut international performance at the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival held in Red Square.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the performance was a historic moment for the orchestra, which showcased its unique talent and cultural heritage to an audience of 5,000 spectators. Dressed in national colors and Faso Danfani loincloth, the orchestra presented a three-scene creation by conductor Commander Aim© C©saire Ou©draogo.

The performance began with the renowned Russian song, the Victory Anthem, sung in Russian, which earned a standing ovation from the Moscow audience. The second act featured a carousel that formed a star, accompanied by the music "Pendo holo" by Burkinabe artist Joseph Salemb©r©, also known as Salambo. This segment highlighted the sovereignty and revolutionary spirit of the Burkinabe people.

In the third scene, a choreographic piece symbolized the resilience and combativeness of the Burkinabe people, set to the song "Pougbeogo" by Georges Ou©draogo, referred to as Le Gandaogo national. For the grand finale, the orchestra, along with around 2,000 musicians from various guest countries, performed "Victory Day," blending modern and traditional instruments, leaving the audience captivated.

Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pingdwend© Gilbert Ou©draogo, expressed his satisfaction with the orchestra's performance. He noted that the spectators stood in admiration of the Burkina Faso people, represented by the orchestra. Minister Ou©draogo was particularly impressed by the opening performance of the Victory Hymn, which he said fostered a sense of belonging, patriotism, and solidarity.

Minister Ou©draogo extended his congratulations to Commander Aim© C©saire Ou©draogo and all the artists for their outstanding presentation to the Russian audience.
