150 Women Screened and Sensitized During Health Initiative in Tenkodogo

Tenkodogo: The Days of Excellence, coupled with the community health night organized on August 8, 2025, in Goumissi, facilitated reproductive health awareness and screenings for 150 women.

According to Burkina Information Agency, 98 women underwent screenings, resulting in three positive cases that received immediate treatment. Additionally, 14 cases of cervicitis were treated, and 34 breast ultrasounds were conducted, aiding early diagnosis of potential abnormalities.

This initiative was made possible with the joint efforts of the Protestant Church, the Tenkodogo health district, and the Urban Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS) 1. Medical teams provided information sessions, consultations, treatments, and practical advice for regular health monitoring.

Organizers highlighted that early detection is crucial for saving lives, especially in combating cervical and breast cancer. They encouraged women to have regular health checkups and to seek medical advice if they notice any unusual symptoms.

The Days of Excellence and the Community Health Night are part of a community mobilization effort to promote better health care and local engagement. Officials indicated that similar activities will be extended to other localities in the region in the coming months to enhance access to screening and quality care for women.
