Eritrea: Mai-Nefhi College of Engineering and Technology Celebrates Graduation of 383 Students

Asmara: In its 18th commencement, Mai-Nefhi College of Engineering and Technology graduated 383 students, including 44% female graduates, in degree and diploma programs yesterday, 19 July. The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone for the institution and its students, who have completed rigorous academic training in engineering and technology disciplines.

According to African Press Organization, the degree program graduates included 13 in Agricultural Engineering, 26 in Chemical Engineering, 30 in Civil Engineering, 39 in Computer Science and Technology, 27 in Electrical and Electronics Technology, 27 in Mechanical Technology, and 28 in Mining Technology. These graduates are now prepared to contribute to various sectors of the economy with their specialized skills.

The diploma program saw students graduating in a range of technical fields, including 23 in Automotive Technology, 28 in Computer Application, 18 in Computer Technology and Networking, 13 in Construction Technology, 23 in Electrical Technology, 24 in Electronics Technology, 26 in Mining Technology, 11 in Surveying, and 11 in Cooling System Technology. This diverse array of programs highlights the institution's commitment to providing practical and relevant education.

The ceremony's honorary guest, Mr. Abraha Asfaha, Minister of Public Works, emphasized the importance of engineering and technology in the economic development of the nation. He urged the new graduates to apply their academic knowledge practically in their respective workplaces, contributing to national progress.

Since its inception, Mai-Nefhi College of Engineering and Technology has played a pivotal role in higher education, graduating 7,671 students in degree and diploma programs, thus bolstering the skilled workforce in Eritrea.
