Tragic gas explosion claims lives of autistic child and mother

Akwayi Mael Noel and his mother, died yesterday after being severely wounded by a wildfire that emanated from a Gas explosion. Those with knowledge of the incident said the mother was cooking at their Muea residence when the explosion occurred, but no detail of why it exploded was given. Noel gave up the ghost while his mother who was in a coma was rushed to Douala but later died on Wednesday night. It is not certain if she was using a mobile phone in the kitchen. Experts say using a mobile phone near a gas bottle in your house can be potentially hazardous.
