President Putin Congratulates Newly Elected President Taye Atske Silassie

Addis Ababa: Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Taye Atske Selassie on his election as the President of Ethiopia. In his message President Putin said "I hope your activities as the President will contribute to the further development of bilateral cooperation in all areas for the benefit of the peoples of our countries, in the interests of strengthening regional stability and security." According to the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia, he also noted that the relations between Russia and Ethiopia are grounded in a long-standing tradition of friendship and mutual respect.
