Opposition Leaders Join CPDM in Marking President Paul Biya’s 42nd Anniversary.


Buea: In an event fully coloured with fabrics of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), some opposition leaders in Buea were present at Mbongo Square on November 6, in their party wears. Notably, the UPC South West senator, Leke Besongoh Akemfor Philip and the SDF district chairman, Efokoa John Mofoke, participated in the celebrations. They also took part in the cutting of the anniversary cake by the Governor of the South West, Bernard Okalia Bilai, assisted by leading elites of the section.

According to Cameroon News Agency, the theme of the celebrations was ‘Let us mobilize as one man behind President Paul Biya to ensure the stability and progress of Cameroon around the ideals of Peace and National Unity’. The Fako III Section President, who is also the Mayor of Buea, David Mafani Namange, expressed gratitude for President Paul Biya’s 42 years of leadership. Quoting the book of Romans, he noted that leaders are chosen by God and should be respected, acknowledging that while all is not perfect, c
ollective efforts can improve the country’s situation.

Celebrations highlighted the unity among political factions, emphasizing cooperation to build a better future for Cameroon. The presence of opposition leaders underscored a shared commitment to national stability and progress despite differing political affiliations.
