Namentenga: More than 2,500 medicinal plants were planted at the Namentenga provincial grove on Thursday, August 14, 2025, with the presence of High Commissioner Adama Conseiga. This event was part of the 7th edition of National Tree Day. The ceremony was also attended by the regional director of Water and Forests of Kuils©, Justin Par©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Union of Former Students of the Provincial High School (UAELP) of Boulsa significantly contributed to this effort through its 3rd edition of reforestation in the high school grove. This participation added to the celebration of National Tree Day, albeit celebrated later than usual. The plantation covered 2/4 hectares of the provincial grove, planting more than 2,500 medicinal plants and various other species in the grove of the provincial high school.
Issaka Sangla, the President of the special delegation of the commune of Boulsa, encouraged the former students to strive towards transforming the grove into a forest. Responding to this call, Mathieu Bonkoungou, President of the UAELP, assured Sangla that the organization will commit to maintaining the plants in the high school grove in Boulsa.
During this event, the Union also promised to explore ways to rehabilitate certain buildings, construct a fence, and provide equipment for the high school. The reforestation session concluded with the sponsors presenting a flag to the Boulsa Provincial High School.
