Ministry Says Closely Following Situations in Lebanon to Ensure Citizens Safety

Addis Ababa: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia has announced that it is closely monitoring developments in Lebanon to ensure the safety of Ethiopian residents and diplomatic personnel.

This was announced today at a meeting held to discuss citizen-centered diplomatic activities, presided over by State Minister Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affiars.

The meeting was attended by leaders and staff from the Ethiopian Consulate in Beirut, Lebanon, as well as leaders from relevant offices in the Ministry.

During their discussion, State Minister Ambassador Birtukan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to paying close attention to the issue, citing citizen-centered diplomacy as one of Ethiopia’s top foreign policy priorities.

According to Ambassador Birtukan, Further announcements and follow ups regarding the situation in Lebanon and the necessary support for Ethiopians residing in the country will be made via appropriate channels of the Foreign Ministry, the Ethiopian
Consulate in Lebanon and various Ethiopian Community Associations.
