Ethiopia, UK Discuss on Security Cooperation

Ethiopia and the United Kingdom discussed ways to enhance their cooperation in the security sector. Ethiopian Federal Police Commission Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael met today with Darren Welch, the United Kingdom Ambassador to Ethiopia. On the occasion, the two sides have exchanged views on the possibility of providing support to the Red Fox Center, established under the Ethiopian Federal Police to mitigate human trafficking and to its Forensic Center, which is under construction, in terms of material, capacity building and experience sharing. Commissioner General Demelash highlighted the exiting strong partnership between the Ethiopian Federal Police Commission and the UK National Crime Agency. Ambassador Welch for his part affirmed the UK's commitment to supporting Ethiopia in the security sector. Both sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Ethiopian Federal Police Commission and the UK's National Criminal Investigation Agency to further enhance their cooperation.
