Ethiopia, German Discuss on Bilateral, Regional Issues

Finance Minister of Ethiopia, Ahmed Shide met with German Officials on the margins of the 2024 World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings. Minister Ahmed had a productive discussion with Germany's BMZ Parliamentary State Secretary Niels Annen on Ethiopia's vital development partnership with Germany. The discussions focused on Ethiopia's recent economic reforms, Ethiopia's role for economic integration and stability in the Horn region, as well as development areas of priority in Ethiopia and ways to scale up German private investments in Ethiopia. The two sides further exchanged views on Germany bilateral support for the implementation of the macroeconomic reforms through budget support to cushion the impacts of the reform measures.
