Asmara: The internal sports competitions of the Eritrean Air Force, which will be underway for over a month, commenced on 5 August.
According to African Press Organization, Maj. Gen. Teklay Habteselasie, Commander of the Eritrean Air Force, noted that the internal sports competitions are evolving consistently, reflecting the growth of sports activities at the national level. He expressed appreciation for those who successfully coordinated the sports competitions.
Maj. Amanuel Tesfagergis, Promotional and Information Staff Officer of the Air Force, highlighted that these competitions are held biennially and include sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, target shooting, among others. Eight clubs with participants of both genders are involved in the competitions.
Maj. Amanuel further explained that the aim of the sports competitions is to equip the Air Forces Kinfi Club, which competes in the Eritrean Defence Forces sports competitions, with proficient athletes.
