East region: Six die, four admitted after consuming poisonous corn

At least Six person were confirmed dead, four others evacauted on Monday after they consumed corn fufu, a locally made dish cooked from Maizer flour. The incident happened in Ngolembele village, Dimako, Upper Nyong Divsion in the East region. The victims had consumed the Maize that had been contaminated with pesticides. The tragedy unfolded when a woman mistakenly used maize treated with chemicals for pest control to prepare couscous ( fufu). Unaware of the danger, ten villagers shared the meal, leading to fatal consequences. Source: Cameroon News Agency
