Cascades/PADEL: a workshop on the appropriation of the third BOAD financing.

The Local Economy Development Support Program (PADEL) organized in Banfora, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, a regional workshop for the appropriation of said project in the Cascades region. Started in 2017, PADEL was effectively deployed in the Cascades region in 2021. The implementation of the program in the Cascades region, through the second financing of the West African Development Bank (BOAD), concerned all 17 municipalities and allowed local authorities to benefit from socio-economic infrastructures that met their needs. Thus, 170 infrastructures were built for a total amount of 2,379,883,824 FCFA. In addition, as part of the implementation of component 4 of the program, 174,314,500 FCFA in credits were granted to 641 beneficiaries. In order to strengthen the infrastructure already built, BOAD has granted a third financing whose effective implementation will start this year. It is for this purpose that the PADEL Regional Branch, in collaboration with the national coordination unit, organized this works hop which aims to present the investments selected for this third financing in order to ensure their appropriation by the development actors of the Cascades region. During this meeting, the aim was to make a brief presentation of the project, to present the situation of implementation of PADEL, to also present the activities selected for the Cascades region within the framework of the third BOAD financing and to discuss the role of the actors in the implementation of PADEL. The technical advisor, Mamadou Traoré, representing the governor of the Cascades region, invited all participants to fully invest in the work in order to achieve convincing results at the end of the workshop. He urged the participants to exchange without complacency but marked by courtesy, through relevant suggestions and recommendations for a successful implementation of the third PADEL financing in the Cascades region. Mr. Traoré also expressed his thanks to BOAD for its continued financial support for the implementation of the progra m. He also extended his congratulations to the entire PADEL management team as well as to all the program's implementing partners for the results already achieved, and encouraged them to continue their efforts to achieve the objectives of the third financing. The national coordinator of PADEL, Moustapha Nignan, expressed his gratitude to BOAD for the various funding that the Project has received since its implementation. He also greeted and thanked the governor and the administrative authorities for their support for the success of the Project in the Cascades. Mr. Nignan also welcomed the mobilization of development actors in the Cascades region, which demonstrates the interest they have in consultation between development actors in the Cascades region for synergy of action.
