Adwa Victory Day Celebrated in Qatar, Djibouti


Ethiopian communities in Qatar and Djibouti have colorfully celebrated the 128th Adwa Victory Day, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In her opening speech to the celebration in Doha, the guest of honor and Foreign Affairs State Minister Birtukan Ayano said the day symbolizes Ethiopia’s unity and served as inspiration for all Africans during their struggle against colonialism.

According to her, celebrating the victory in foreign lands opens doors to promote the proud history and good image of Ethiopia.

The state minster also affirmed the commitment of the Government of Ethiopia to continue protecting the rights and dignity of Ethiopians who live abroad, in line with its Citizen-centered Foreign Policy.

The event got an interesting vibe with sports competition and music shows, it was learned.

Also in Djibouti, community members and esteemed government officials commemorated the 128th commemoration of Victory of Adwa today.

Highlighting the historical significance of the event, Deputy Head of Miss
ion Kebede Abera underscored the paramount importance of this day in promoting unity among Ethiopians.

A panel discussion on how Ethiopia can sustain its commitment to protecting its sovereignty and dignity while preserving the Adwa legacy was held.
