Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced today that the city has launched a new city development strategy (CDS). The mayor posted on X today that this is a strategic leap to envision Addis Ababa's long-term move through a new, comprehensive, long-term, and strategic lens of urban development. "we strongly believe that the preparation of the CDS lays the foundation for integrating and scaling up our ongoing endeavors, developing new urban development perspectives for the upcoming preparation of our new structure plan, and infusing new city development concepts and thoughts-smart city, compact city, etc.," Adanech wrote. According to her, the city administration also believe that the CDS will enhance the capacity to mobilize more resources and communicate endeavors towards becoming a city that aspires to be a beacon of prosperity.
