Eritrean Community in Egypt Commemorates 65th Anniversary of Armed Struggle

Cairo: The Eritrean community in Egypt celebrated the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the armed struggle for Eritrean independence with patriotic zeal. The event took place in Cairo, drawing a number of nationals who participated in cultural programs illustrating the significance of Bahti Meskerem to the Eritrean people. According to African Press Organization, Mr. Aman Abdelwasie, Charge d'Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of September 1st. This day marks the commencement of Eritrea's fight for independence and dignity, standing as a pivotal moment in the nation's history. Mr. Abdelwasie also highlighted the day's role in reminding citizens to intensify their efforts towards executing national development programs.
