Poni High Commission Revives Monthly Flag-Raising Ceremony to Strengthen Patriotism

Gaoua: The High Commission of Poni has revived the monthly flag-raising ceremony, a significant move aimed at fostering patriotism and civic-mindedness within the public services of the province. The initiative was relaunched in Gaoua on Thursday, with the ceremony drawing the participation of provincial directors, departmental heads, and agents.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by Bepampo Ouoba, the High Commissioner of Poni province. The ceremony featured two main components: the performance of the national anthem, the Ditanye, and a discussion session among participants. Mr. Ouoba highlighted that this initiative, previously discontinued, is designed to create a monthly gathering fostering patriotic values.

Mr. Ouoba stated, “Each month, we will meet to sing the national anthem and reaffirm our attachment to the nation. The activity will be held on a rotating basis in the different provincial directorates that have a flagpole.” The High Commissioner appreciated the strong mobilization of provincial actors for the ceremony’s revival, marking it as an important step in promoting patriotism and civic-mindedness in Poni.
