Kombissiri Population Mobilizes for Municipal Cemetery Cleanup

Kombissiri: Citizens of Kombissiri mobilized in large numbers on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, to clean the municipal cemetery. This cleanup operation was initiated by Issaka Guigma, known as “Salankoloto,” a native of the town.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the town of Kombissiri experienced a unique atmosphere on the morning of Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Citizens turned out in large numbers to head to the town’s municipal cemetery. Their goal was to clear the area of tall grass at the end of the rainy season.

Armed with cleaning tools, hundreds of citizens-men, women, and young people-swarmed the cemetery grounds. They all responded to the call of Issaka Guigma, the initiator of this large-scale cleanup operation. For Mr. Guigma, the idea of cleaning the cemetery was taken in memory of all the deceased who rest there. “The cemetery is the final resting place for everyone, and those of us who are still alive have a duty to keep it clean regularly,” he stated.

In a friendly atmosphere, encouraged by the elderly people present in the shade of the trees, the citizens cleared the cemetery of tall grass and other rubbish. Following the cleanup, a prayer service was held on site, where prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased and to thank the townspeople for their strong turnout. The organizer praised his fellow citizens’ commitment to the cleanup operation.
