Ouagadougou: The Faso Action Solidaire association provided school supplies to nearly 300 destitute and orphaned children of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) who perished while defending the national territory.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the distribution of school kits took place during the 6th edition of the solidarity day organized by the association. The event aimed to support children from the Defense and Security Forces and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland with essential school materials such as bags, notebooks, and pens.
Benjamin Bassole, president of Faso Action Solidaire, emphasized the importance of solidarity with the most deprived, urging individuals to embrace values of sharing and commitment. Bassole pointed out that the initiative serves as a reminder that attention should be given to every child, particularly those affected by precarious circumstances and parental loss.
Adja Bonkoungou, a healer from Zagtouli and sponsor of the publication, praised the initiati
ve and encouraged the children to focus on their education. Bonkoungou highlighted the association’s contribution to the well-being of the population and expressed satisfaction with the tangible results witnessed during the event.
Abdoul Nafiou, a TLE student, expressed gratitude to the association, noting that the supplies would aid in their educational pursuits. He vowed to study diligently as a gesture of appreciation for the support received.
In addition to the distribution of school supplies, Faso Action Solidaire has facilitated scholarships for high school graduates to complete their Bachelor’s degree cycle at CERPAMAD. Hamidou Diallo, a scholarship recipient, expressed gratitude on behalf of his peers for the university’s support.
The association also supports women in training programs for making koko donda loincloths and awards certificates of recognition to individuals who contribute to its initiatives. Established in 2020, Faso Action Solidaire focuses on social assistance, improving living con
ditions, training young people in entrepreneurship, and leading civic initiatives such as sanitation and reforestation activities.
