Kourweogo: Dintigue Koudogo’s Team Wins the Naaba Boulga Cup


Kourweogo: Dintigue Koudogo’s local team emerged victorious in the Naaba Boulga Cup, defeating the United Youth for Football (JUF-FC) by a narrow margin of one goal to zero. The final match, held on the village grounds in sector 4 of Bousse, was presided over by Issaka Gamentore, the president of the special delegation of the commune of Bousse.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Maracana football tournament concluded with the local team’s triumph on Saturday, September 21, 2025. The event attracted a large and enthusiastic crowd, who witnessed the hosts securing the trophy, accompanied by a prize of 50,000 FCFA, a ball, and a set of jerseys. The runners-up received 30,000 FCFA, along with a ball and a set of jerseys.



The tournament was not only a sporting event but also a cultural celebration, featuring performances by artists, games of ‘rakire’, and the sharing of local dishes. Under the theme “Sport, a factor of social cohesion and strengthening of inter-community relations,” the competition included eight teams, notably featuring a team from Soala, a village in the commune of Nanoro, known for its joking kinship with Dintigue Koudogo.



Representing Naaba, Martin Ouedraogo emphasized the tournament’s aim to unite communities and promote the joking kinship, which historically has played a role in enhancing unity and preventing conflicts. He expressed hope that this inaugural edition would become an annual event, fostering sportsmanship and peace among the youth.



Boukary Diallo, the tournament sponsor, commended the organizing committee and highlighted the event as a moment of mixing, humor, and fraternity-key elements in combating division and stigmatization. Issaka Gamentore, the President of the special delegation of Bousse, extended his congratulations to the finalists and expressed gratitude to the promoter and organizers for their efforts in promoting communal harmony.
