Washington D.C.: The World Bank Group has appointed Carlos Felipe Jaramillo as Vice President for the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) Region, effective September 15, 2025. Jaramillo is set to take charge of the development initiatives in one of the world's most dynamic regions.

According to World Bank, Jaramillo brings over two decades of proven leadership across multiple regions and global practices. This extensive experience positions him well to drive the Bank's jobs-focused development agenda. In his role as EAP Vice President, Jaramillo will oversee partnerships with 23 countries and manage an active portfolio exceeding US$32 billion.

Jaramillo will be based in Singapore, which will serve as the new regional hub for the EAP region. This move aligns with the World Bank's strategy of decentralization to be closer to clients and enhance service delivery.
