Boulgou: Meeting at the initiative of the President of the special delegation (PDS) of Zabr©, representatives of the vital forces of the commune adopted a roadmap aimed at improving solid waste management and strengthening public awareness, in order to prevent public health risks linked to insalubrity.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the special delegation (PDS), Alain Boubi© Bassono, convened all active forces to the town hall on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, to find sustainable solutions to the poor management of solid waste.
The meeting included the traditional chieftaincy, representatives of the Village Development Committees (CVD), associations working in the field of sanitation, traders, and civil society organizations (CSOs). Several commitments were made following the discussions. Two local associations decided, with the support of the local authority, to resume solid waste collection activities. Traders committed to making and installing garbage bins on business premises by September 3, 2025.
A radio program will be broadcast on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, to raise public awareness about sanitation responsibilities. A field trip is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2025, to mobilize local residents around issues related to insalubrity. The active forces also expressed the wish for coercive measures to be applied by the town hall against offenders after the awareness-raising phase.
In welcoming these commitments, the PDS thanked all stakeholders for their availability and willingness to work for the general interest and the improvement of living conditions for the people of Zabr©.
