the government wants to beautify cities through the construction of decent housing Ouagadougou, October 16, 2024 (AIB) - The Burkinabe State decided on Wednesday, in the Council of Ministers, to develop and beautify cities through the construction of decent housing, sanitation and the creation of green public spaces. This decision, which is part of the presidential initiative "Faso Mêbo", aims to respond to the problem of the galloping urbanization of Burkina Faso, according to the Minister of State, government spokesperson, Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo. He explained that the urbanization of the country is "very poorly planned", hence this approach by the authorities to resolve this issue. "We have cities that continue to expand with many precarious neighborhoods, and the difficulty of providing responses to the needs in basic social services, in terms of roads, sanitation, water and electricity, is real," said the Minister of State.
