Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government launched on Saturday the Lafia initiative, costing nearly 10 billion FCFA, in order to reduce the vulnerability of 100,000 households. This will involve providing loans at low interest rates to people who have been trained and who have income-generating activities, with a view to promoting their reintegration into society and reducing their vulnerability. The Lafia initiative was launched on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Ouahigouya by the Minister of Economy, Aboubakar Nakanabo. The operationalization of the Lafia initiative will be done through the National Fund for Inclusive Finance (FONAFI), in collaboration with financial service providers.
