The Provincial Episcopal Commission for the Family and Youth Apostolates (PECFAYA) convened its annual meeting in Bamenda on August 2-3, 2024. The gathering brought together representatives from the five dioceses of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda to assess the past year's activities and plan for future initiatives. PECFAYA, a technical arm of the Bamenda Provincial Episcopal Conference, focuses on coordinating and enhancing family life and youth apostolates within the region. The commission comprises youth chaplains, youth leaders, family life coordinators, and couple leaders. A key topic of discussion at this year's meeting was the LGBTQ trend. Participants engaged in a reflection led by Fr. Ernest Djodzeven on the implications of this issue for the Church and its communities. In addition to addressing current challenges, PECFAYA is preparing for the second YCW Provincial Rally and developing standardized handbooks for various youth groups.
