Addis Ababa: The House of People's Representatives (HPR) has declared three days of national mourning beginning tomorrow to commemorate the lives lost in the landslide in Gofa Zone, Southern Ethiopia. The tragic incident occurred in Kencho Shacha Gozdi Kebele resulting in the loss of lives. The HPR has expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones of the victims. The national mourning period will begin on July 27, 2024. During the days mourning, the Ethiopian flag will fly at half-mast across the country, on Ethiopian ships, and at all embassies and consulates. The HPR is authorized to declare national mourning in accordance with Article 22, Sub-article 2. Source: Ethiopian News Agency
