Tenkodogo: The Days of Excellence, coupled with the community health night organized on August 8, 2025, in Goumissi, made it possible to raise awareness among 150 women about reproductive health and to carry out screening for several female conditions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, 98 women were screened during the day, including three positive cases that received immediate treatment. In addition, 14 cases of cervicitis were treated on site and 34 breast ultrasounds were performed, allowing for early diagnosis of possible abnormalities.
This initiative, focused on the protection and promotion of women's health, was made possible thanks to the joint involvement of the Protestant Church, the Tenkodogo health district, and the Urban Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS) 1. The medical and paramedical teams involved provided information sessions, consultations, treatments, and practical advice for regular monitoring.
The organizers emphasized that early detection remains one of the most effective ways to save lives, particularly in the fight against cervical cancer and breast cancer. They urged women to have regular health checkups and to contact health facilities if they experience any suspicious symptoms.
The Days of Excellence, coupled with the Community Health Night, are part of a dynamic of community mobilization in favor of better health care, while promoting the commitment of local actors.
Officials said other localities in the region will benefit from similar activities in the coming months to expand access to screening and quality care for women.
