Nyatike Youth Encouraged to Join Sports and Empower Themselves Economically

Nyatike: Youths in the semi-arid area of Nyatike Constituency have been encouraged to engage in sports and develop their skills as an alternative means to achieve economic empowerment.

According to Kenya News Agency, the Founder and Director of Ngoje Foundation, Robley Ngoje, emphasized that sports can provide a platform for youths to showcase their talents, potentially leading them to opportunities on county, national, and international stages. Ngoje expressed this during a football tournament organized in the semi-arid area of Modi-Nyatike Sub-County, highlighting the foundation's commitment to nurturing talents among the less privileged youth.

Ngoje stated, "We want to help our youths from this semi-arid area of Nyatike showcase their talents and be scouted by teams playing in the National Super League (NSL) and the Kenya Premier League (KPL)." He elaborated that dedication and hard work could help the youth overcome geographical limitations and achieve their dreams and visions.

The Director encouraged the youths to embrace sports, noting that football in the country is increasingly becoming a viable economic venture that can uplift their standards. He also observed that the football talent displayed at the tournament fostered unity and peace, virtues he believes are crucial for enhancing patriotism.

The ongoing CHAN 2024, which has seen the Harambee Stars qualify for the quarter-finals, has not only attracted fans to the stadium but also boosted patriotism among the residents. Demonstrating the region's football prowess, two former players from the Migori Youths Football team, currently playing in the NSL, are part of the Harambee Stars participating in CHAN 2024.
