Tenado: The ‘Gni Dwii’ Maracana Night Tournament in Tenado reached its climax with a thrilling final that crowned the ‘Young Talents’ team against USFA FC.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the grand finale of this 7th edition took place on the Saint-Augustin high school pitch. The match featured a face-off between “Jeunes Talents” and USFA FC. Ivan Bassole of the “Young Talents” team sealed the fate of the match with a decisive strike in the 10th minute of the first half, which remained the only goal throughout the game. This victory allowed “Jeunes Talents” to succeed “Jeunesse Club” in the rankings. The champions were awarded the trophy, a set of jerseys, gold medals, and an envelope containing 500,000 CFA francs.
USFA FC, the finalists, were recognized for their efforts with a sum of 300,000 CFA francs, silver medals, a set of jerseys, and balls. The teams finishing in 3rd and 4th place received 200,000 CFA francs and 150,000 CFA francs, respectively, along with sports equipment.
The closing ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Mr. Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, who sponsored the event. He paid tribute to the FDS and VDP for their efforts in restoring peace in Faso and applauded the tournament’s organizers. Other notable attendees included the High Commissioner of the Province of Sanguie, Talari Germaine Ouoba, and the President of the special delegation of the commune of Tenado, Asmede Dianda.
Tournament promoters Baboar Patrice Bado, Placid Kabore, and Augustin Bassono expressed gratitude to the authorities, sponsors, and the organizing committee through Augustin Bassono. The event concluded in a festive atmosphere, with anticipation for the next edition.
