Ouagadougou: The Assemblies of God Church ‘Sheckina Wend-Ziiri’ in Karpala commemorated its 20th anniversary on Saturday in an atmosphere of praise, prayer, and fellowship, in the presence of many members from all over Ouagadougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, eleven choirs took turns on stage to magnify the name of God and testify to His faithfulness during these two decades of existence. This celebration, themed “20 Years of History, 20 Years of Glory, 20 Years of Recognition, 20 Years of Prayer,” was marked by moments of worship and fellowship among the members of the Assemblies of God.
The church’s senior pastor, Fran§ois Xavier Compaore, stated that the celebration aimed to “thank God, take stock of the journey, and consider new perspectives.” The president of the General Council of the Assemblies of God of Burkina Faso, Dr. Etienne Zongo, added, “this 20th anniversary is a testament to victory, not an end, but a new beginning for the Church.”
The ceremony concluded with the symbolic cutting of the birthday cake, in an atmosphere filled with joy and gratitude. The Assemblies of God Church Sheckina Wend-Ziiri continues its primary mission: evangelization and spreading the faith.
