Sourou Equips 264 Teachers with Competency-Based and Inclusive Pedagogy

Sourou: The Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) in Sourou has initiated a series of pedagogical days aimed at equipping 264 post-primary and secondary school teachers with the Competency-Based Approach and Inclusive Pedagogy (APC/PI).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the educational conferences were inaugurated by the High Commissioner of the province, Desire Badolo, on Monday, October 13, 2025. The training session, which runs from October 13 to 16, is designed to enhance the teaching and learning competencies of secondary school educators using the APC/PI model.

In his opening address, High Commissioner Desire Badolo commended the dedication of teachers in the province, highlighting their commitment to education and the positive impact on future generations. He emphasized the importance of the training, describing it as a means of professional development rather than merely a social gathering.

Romuald Boro, the French inspector representing the provincial director, expressed gratitude for the support from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and volunteers for the defense of the homeland (VDP). He also acknowledged the trainers, many of whom are inspectors from other provinces, for their contribution to the success of the initiative.

The session, aimed at bolstering the capabilities of secondary education professionals in Sourou, is set to conclude on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
