Nahouri: The Djoatina association of Po “Hope for Tomorrow” closed, this Monday, September 22, 2025 in Po, the activities of the 9th edition of “Espace vacances jeunes filles de Po”. Chaired by the High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Sie Aristide Mohamed Kam, this space, which lasted two weeks, allowed young girls to learn how to prepare local dishes and raised awareness about the ills that undermine society.
According to Burkina Information Agency, for two weeks, the twenty young girls were trained in culinary arts, shoe and hat making, road safety, and the creation of income-generating activities, among other things. “Promotion Determination” is the name given to the class of young girls in the 9th edition of “Espace vacances jeunes filles de Po”.
For the promoter, Kadoua Wetta/Abem, the traditional African culinary art which gives women an important place and consideration is in the process of disappearing. “Some women face enormous difficulties at home because they no longer know how to offer their husbands even the slightest local dish. These activities will enable young girls to strengthen their skills in various areas,” said Ms. Wetta.
The girls’ representative, Nourriahi Abem, welcomed this initiative which allowed them to learn, under the guidance of the trainers, how to prepare several local dishes. She is committed to using the knowledge she has acquired for the benefit of the entire community.
The High Commissioner of Nahouri Province, Sie Aristide Mohamed Kam, invited the young girls to be role models in their families, because the family remains the first school of life. “You should capitalize on and reinvest the values and knowledge you have acquired for the benefit of the community. You are the hopes of tomorrow; be models of courage, creativity, determination, and commitment,” the provincial authority maintained.
Mr. Kam also congratulated the leaders of the association who, for nine years, have invested their energy and love to offer young girls in our province a framework for development and continuing education. Before the ceremony began, the assembly sang in Kassim the hymn of victory of the fighting forces over the forces of evil.
