Koudougou: Appointed by the Council of Ministers on September 4, 2025, Lucien Guenguere, a seasoned civil administrator, was installed on Monday during a ceremony held in the meeting room of the Governorate of Koudougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, chaired by the regional governor, Adama Jean Yves Bere, brought together many personalities, including high commissioners of the provinces, customary and religious authorities, regional directors, and heads of service. The Governor proceeded to install the new Secretary General by pronouncing the consecrated formula, thus marking the beginning of his functions.
Recognizing the complexity and importance of his new role, Mr. Guenguere called for solidarity from all. He sought the support of his superiors, all structures, traditional and religious authorities, as well as all the “sons and daughters of the Nando region.” He also paid tribute to his predecessors, praising their dynamism, courage, and spirit of sacrifice, expressing his willingness to continue the efforts already undertaken for the development of the region.
Using a famous quote, he reiterated his belief that “we do not develop, but we develop ourselves,” emphasizing the importance of collective commitment. The new Secretary-General concluded his address by reiterating his determination to fulfill his mission with dedication, for a truly independent and sovereign Burkina Faso. “I firmly believe that if we all commit ourselves, fully, our country and the Nando region will achieve progress beyond expectations in the months and years to come,” he said.
Governor Bere, after congratulating the man for the confidence placed in him by the highest authorities, reassured him of his support and that of all the constituted bodies of the region to enable him to succeed in his mission and therefore, the common mission of the Burkinabe administration.
