Launch of Cervical and Breast Cancer Screening Campaign in Soudougui

Koulpelogo: More than 100 women from the commune of Soudougui received screening for uterine and breast cancer this Wednesday. This initiative, which aims to strengthen prevention and the fight against these diseases, took place at the commune’s primary healthcare center (CSPS).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative allowed many women to undergo essential tests in a safe and supportive environment. Indeed, it contributed to the early detection of cancers, which are often fatal when diagnosed late. The screening was a pivotal moment for the participants, highlighting the local authorities’ commitment to promoting public health, particularly women’s health.

In his speech, the head nurse of the post, Niamangolo Koita, expressed his satisfaction with the mobilization of the women and praised the commitment of his entire team. ‘We are very proud to participate in this awareness and prevention initiative. We hope that this screening program will be the beginning of a change in the health habits
of our populations,’ he said.

This initial screening initiative is a response to growing concerns about breast and uterine cancer, which affect many women across the country. Local authorities are counting on the continuation of these initiatives to enable more women to benefit from these vital services.

The CSPS of Soudougui, in collaboration with the health authorities, intends to continue to implement awareness and screening actions to fight against these cancers which remain a public health priority.
