Addis Ababa: President of the Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Sheikh Ibrahim Tufa laid his green stamp on the overnight planting in Addis Ababa Yeka Sub City ‘Chaka Project’.
Millions of Ethiopians from all over the nation turned out in the early morning today to break their own planting record by planting 600 million seedlings today.
Today’s massive tree planting event is part of the National Green Legacy Initiative launched in 2019 by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed with the objective of mitigating the impacts of climate change and challenges of food insecurity.President of the Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Sheikh Ibrahim Tufa participated at this event by planting samplings in Ababa Yeka Sub City around ‘Chaka Project’.
Sheikh Ibrahim participate at the event along with religious leaders and senior government officials.
