Donations for FASO MEEBO are now being accepted in the Bankui and Sourou regions. The launch ceremony was chaired by Governor Pierre Bassinga in Boromo. The launch activities were marked by a popular cross-country race followed by the raising of the colors at the High Commission.
The highlight of this day of citizen mobilization around the presidential initiative was the governor’s reception of the first contributions. This first day included donations of cement, sand, equipment, and cash. The various speakers at the ceremony, composed of representatives of citizen watch associations, the coordination of women’s associations, customary and religious legitimacy, regional deputies, the mission officer of the presidency of Faso, as well as administrative authorities, took turns launching messages of mobilization and expressing their support for the implementation received from FASO MEEBO in the region.
Governor Bassinga congratulated the people for their strong turnout at the ceremony and the donations. He also encouraged them to massively support FASO MEEBO so that the necessary resources can be mobilized to support its implementation. To this end, the regional authority urged each province and municipality to compete in collecting materials.
For the regional authority, “it is only at this price that the roads and our interurban routes will be transformed.” He also urged each high commissioner and prefect, and president of special delegations, to be troop commanders on development sites.
