Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed is visiting India from 7 to 12 April in which both sides will discuss extensively on the diverse dimensions of bilateral relations.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Foreign Minister of Eritrea is visiting India on Wednesday. He will have a formal meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on 8 April.
The Eritrean minister will return from India on 12 April.
According to the ministry, relations between India and Eritrea are old. India granted formal recognition to Eritrea after its independence in 1993.
Over the years, India has offered assistance to Eritrea in capacity building in many areas. These include drafting legislative and technical scholarships and food assistance in the fields of agriculture, health and education.
The Indian community in Eritrea has about 1,200 people, mostly school teachers and businessmen.
