Central Region awards winners of “Zinar Tibebat”

Asmara, The Department of Culture and Sports in the Central Region administration awarded winners of the regional artistic competition Zinar Tibebat on 17 January. The competition has been going on for about a year throughout the Central region, the report indicated.

Speaking at the ceremony, which was attended by Maj. Gen. Romadan Osman Awliyay, Governor of the Central region and Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports, Mr. Endirias Asmerom, head of Culture and Sports in the Central Region, gave briefing on the significant role of art in bringing about independence and safeguarding national sovereignty, as well as its role in the unfolding era of peace and cooperation.

Indicating that Zinar Tibebat competitions began in 2018 and aims to create spirit of competition among artists, Mr. Endrias stated that the competitions include poetry, painting, dancing, traditional instruments and musical competitions.

At the event, winners which stood from 1st to third in the category of poetry were given 5 thousand, 3,500, and 2,500 Nakfa respectively as well as Zinar Tibebat Award. In painting, 10 thousand, 7 thousand, and 5 thousand Nakfa were handed over to winners that stood from 1st to third as well as Zinar Tibebat Award.

Miras Cultural Troupe won the dancing category competition and was awarded 5 thousand Nakfa.
