8 people have died and 62 injured in a fatal road accident in the early hours of Wednesday September 4 at the Dschang cliff in the West Region.
The accident according to sources, involved a 70-seater interurban transport bus belonging to Avenir Voyage from Foumbot in the West to Douala ended up in a gully.
Eyewitnesses say the accident occurred due the the driver’s recklessness.
‘The driver had a flat tire and was asked to slow down but he did not obey. Since Bafoussam he was driving recklessly until the tire got flat here.’ A passenger explains
Among the injured are 33 women and 29 men according to the General Manager of the Dschang Regional Hospital Annex where the injured are currently being treated.
