Stage 7 Tour du Rwanda 2022: Eritrean Natnael Tesfatsion defended the race lead

French cyclist Alan Boileau (B&B Hôtels) won the 7th and penultimate stage of the Tour de Rwanda, this Saturday in Kigali, where Eritrean Natnael Tesfatsion (Drone Hopper) retained the overall leader’s jersey.

The seventh stage of the Tour of Rwanda was won by Frenchman Alan Boileau , who also opened the victory counter for his pro team, B&B Hotels KTM . On Mont Kigali, in a hilltop finish, he savored victory ahead of Omer Goldstein (Israel-Premier Tech) and Gianni Marchand (Tateletto-Isorex). The three of them starred in the real emotion at the end of the stage.

In fact, with two kilometers to go, Goldstein held a 22-second lead over Boileau and Marchand, but was unable to keep up with the Frenchman’s pace on the summit of Mont Kigali. The leader’s jersey continues to be for Natnael Tesfazion , who with the last day remaining, maintains a difference of 28 seconds with respect to the Ukrainian Budiak, who won the sixth stage.

As for the Spanish participation, a proper name: Ángel Madrazo . The Burgos BH runner entered the finish line with 1:34 left and in the general classification he maintains fourth place, 8 seconds off the podium, where Tesfazion (1st), Budiak (2nd) and Ewart (3rd) are currently up.

‘Fiema’ Award to outstanding students

‘Fiema’ Award was handed over to 39 outstanding students including 10 females that scored higher marks in the 2019/2020 as well as 2020/2021 eighth grade national examinations in the Southern Red Sea Region.

At the ceremony held on 1 April in Assab, it was reported that the awardees were provided with books and other school materials.

Indicating that the development of overall capacity of the youth is one of the major missions of the union, Mr. Osman Abdulkader, head of the NUEYS at the region, stated that the union branch has been engaged in empowering the capacity of youth students and civil servants in which the ‘Fiema’ Award is part of.

The D.G. of the Social Services Department of the region, Mr. Humed Ali Siro on his part, called on the awardees to increase effort in achieving better results in their academic performances.
